What I’m Loving in June

Reflections Halfway through 2026 ❤

I can’t believe we’re already halfway through 2026. It feels like we were just shoveling feet of snow here on Boston’s South Shore!

While June has been the start of summer, it’s also been a time of reflection for me to look back on the first part of the year. I’m big on goals and checking in on the things I’ve wanted to accomplish, but I’m also recognizing the slow, everyday moments that have been truly meaningful for me this year.

1. Seasons in Boston

Boston is the most beautiful city and I’m so thankful to be able to appreciate it year round. This past winter was tough, with record snow falls and it almost seemed like we skipped spring.

Summer in Boston (and in New England in general) is truly magical and one of my favorite seasons here. Between summer nights, lobster rolls, grabbing coffees, and enjoying green spaces, it’s been a great summer so far.

2. Heated Sculpt Classes!

I’ve lost 47 lbs over the last year and a half (which is crazy to say out loud) and my goal is to lose 10-15 more over the next few months. Progress has slowed down a LOT as I get closer to my goal weight, so I knew I needed to mix things up a bit to move the needle.

Enter Heated Sculpt – I love a heated workout class and knew I wanted to find a great studio that offered warmed sculpt classes, so I could start working on adding in more strength training. I found an incredible studio on the South Shore that is super welcoming and has a great sense of community.

3. Simple Meals I Enjoy

One reason I’ve had success with weight loss is not complicating things – keeping my meals simple (and often, on repeat) has been a massive help for me.

I basically have the same breakfast everyday which consists of scrambled eggs, a siete gf tortilla, avocado, and strawberries. I also have electrolytes and after breakfast, indulge in coffee. Lunches are typically similar meals that I have on rotation – like tuna or just leftovers from dinner the evening before. For a snack I always have an apple and peanut butter.

Dinners are a bit more creative but always consist of the same formula: protein, fat, carb. Keeping things simple not only makes decisions a lot easier, but I find that it’s also better for our budget.

4. Creating Cozy Corners

We moved to a new apartment in November of 2025 and it has been fun decorating our new space and finding what aesthetic fits our “vibe”. While I still have a few projects I want to tackle, like finding the right piece of artwork for the large wall above our couch, I’m so happy with how our style has come together and how each room complements the other.

I’ve also been leaning into higher quality pieces that may cost more but will certainly last longer and turning more away from things I would find at HomeGoods or Amazon. I love a good candle from HomeGoods but it may not be the best place for items I want to enjoy year over year!

5. Finding Joy in Routine

I think sometimes we fear that routine will be boring but I’ve found that routine can help set us up for success, keep us focused, and make our lives easier. What’s helped me is putting my days into different categories, so that even though I may follow a similar routine, the purpose of the day is different.

For example, Monday has become a rest and recovery day for me following two days of sculpt classes. So, mentally, it’s a day where I can ease into the week, enjoy my commute into the city, and truly give myself a break.

I’m excited to see what the rest of 2026 will bring, how I will continue to lean into my wellness, and ultimately continue finding and being my authentic self.
